River Corridor Foundation receives
the 2017 Civic Image Award

The River Corridor Foundation was the recipient of the 2017 Civic Image Award for the Wind Emotions Sculpture, pictured below, at the recent  St. Charles Chamber of Commerce 96th Annual Charlemagne Awards.

The Civic Image Award was created in 1993 to recognize members of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce for humanitarian efforts and/or civic or personal projects outside of business which have brought outstanding, positive recognition to St. Charles - therefore enhancing the image of the community.
With financial support from Tom and Cris Anderson, Grand Victoria Riverboat Foundation, Community Foundation of Fox River Valley, the City of St. Charles and Active River Project, we purchased and installed the Wind Emotions Sculpture.

The kinetic sculpture is located on the west side of the Fox River where the Anderson family harvested ice years ago. Wind Emotions frames the Municipal Building and features three wind-driven synchronized poles which are illuminated at night. The tallest pole stands 29 feet. Wind Emotions is the work of American sculptor Lyman Whitaker.
