2014 Rhythm on the River Roaring Success

The 2014 Rhythm on the River Swing & Jazz event, which included a a twenties style pre-party on the streets of St. Charles, was a roaring success.  A number of members from both the St. Charles Noon Rotary and the River Corridor Foundation were dressed in period costumes and enjoyed hamming it up with attendees and passers-by alike.  (Photos: Left – Bob Brown causing a stir on Main Street; Center – Tom Anderson putting on the ritz; Right – Bob & Carol Miller “say hello to my little friend”)

Whether appreciating the several beautiful 1920s & 1930s antique cars on hand, or being entertained by the dancing prowess of the Tri-City Swing Club stepping out to tunes played by the Chi-Town Hot Shot, there was enough energy to ward off the chilly weather.

Once inside the dancing continued to the toe tapping tunes provided by Fat Babies.  After a quick intermission to distribute the raffle prize spoils, the unique sound of gypsy jazz was provided by the very talented Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan.

Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the festivities and are excited to see what’s in store for next year.
